Dear UFCW member,

In the most of challenging of days, with the COVID-19 threat still ever-present, we are now faced with overcoming the damage of a historic winter storm.

Please know that your union is here for you and union representatives are visiting the stores to check in on our members, document the conditions, and hear from you about what you need to get through this crisis.

If you need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact your union representative, or if you can, call your union office at (281) 448-5555 or email us at info@ufcw455.org.

Most importantly, we want to make sure that every Local 455 member is safe.

To help each of you deal with the most immediate weather crisis, we wanted to provide you with an important list of resources below, in case you, or your friends or coworkers may need assistance.

  • Warming Centers: The Texas Division of Emergency Management has developed a map for people to find the closest warming shelter near them and to view warming centers across the state of Texas. For additional information, assistance, or resources, call 2-1-1.
  • Non-emergency Assistance: Houston area residents can call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line at 713-221-6000 or 311 for information about shelter or transportation to a warming center.

For those members going into work, please inform us immediately of any safety issue or concern in your store.

If you have photos or videos showing health and safety concerns or poor working conditions in your store, please email them to info@ufcw455.org or text them to your union rep if you can.

Your union is determined to protect you, keep you safe, and make sure Kroger rewards your dedication and hard work. That is why, no matter how hard the challenge we will face, we will never give up on fighting for a contract that you have earned and deserve.

Please stay safe, and never forget that together, we will get through this crisis.
