Dear Local 455 Kroger Members,
Your bargaining team met with the Company on 2/21; 2/22; and, 2/23 and we are pleased to announce that we reached a tentative agreement that has earned the support, and recommendation, of your rank-and-file Bargaining Committee! Voting will begin on Thursday 2/29, in the break rooms of each store across the Houston Division through 3/12, to vote on accepting or rejecting the contract offer.

Tentative Agreement In-Store Voting Schedule
The tentative agreement (TA) reached by your Bargaining Committee for a new three-year contract, is a strong package that rewards your hard work. It also returns many items that were taken from the membership, during the last contract fight. The TA provides wage increases for all employees, over a three-year term, while also reducing how much you pay out of your check each week for your health insurance by 40%.
Your pension is secure and your Bargaining Committee was successful in negotiating a ratification bonus, if the TA is accepted by the membership. As part of the new contract offer, your Committee was also able to get a reduction for the minimum hours requirements, needed to qualify for health insurance coverage, which will enable more of our membership to be eligible for coverage. We encourage all members to attend a store vote, and talk with a Bargaining Committee member to go through all of the details in the TA, and learn of the many improvements.
We are very proud of the work that was done by your Bargaining Committee to get the kind of package you now have to vote on and also very proud of the work our membership did, standing up and demanding a fair contract.
We would like to thank all of our brother and sister Union members who served and volunteered to help the Union, whether it was answering questions, working strike votes, phone banking, counting ballots, press interviews, agreeing to serve as a picket captain, passing out strike buttons, attending bargaining sessions, or taking the time to help educate a co-worker. This would not have been possible without you.
Thank you for serving our communities and for being members of this Local Union and we hope to see you at the upcoming contract votes.
In Solidarity,
Your Kroger Houston Bargaining Committee & Local Union President Brandon Hopkins.
