Dear Local 455 Kroger Members,

Your Kroger Houston Bargaining Committee, made up of workers just like you, met with the Company on 1/23 & 1/26 to continue discussions about contracts that reward your hard work. On 1/23 the discussions, at the Company’s request, mainly surrounded a press story the Local Union took part in, calling on the Kroger Company to do better in its compensation package it gives to its workers, our members. Your bargaining committee reaffirmed and made clear to the Company we need to remain productive with the time we have discussing bargaining subjects and working toward securing contracts in Houston that reward your hard work. On 1/26 the Company and Union discussed each open bargaining proposal and while the Company moved later in the session to withdraw some of their contract proposals, not one item that the Union has proposed by this point has been agreed upon.

The Union and Company Bargaining Committees have agreed to meet on 2/6, 2/7 & 2/8 to continue bargaining and we will update you whatever comes out of those meetings. With one month before our Houston contracts expire it’s important, we all come together and stand strong for contracts you and your coworkers can be proud of, contracts that reward you and your coworkers hard work.

Send a loud and clear message to Kroger that we deserve better and support the Union in its contract bargaining with the Company.
