On April 11 through 14th 2022, UFCW Local 455 Kroger Union members voted at one of the many Kroger store locations throughout the Houston area on the Tentative Agreements that were recently signed by the Company.
The approval results are in, here they are!
CLERK – 97 %
Meat – 94 %
Congratulations to our Kroger Houston membership for ratifying your new Union contracts in favor of better affordable healthcare that you have a voice in; increased daily and weekly hour minimums; improved vacation & personal day benefits; unfrozen wages with increases; protection of full-time jobs; and many other improvements that will be carried out in your new contract.
As a part of our new agreement, you will also be moving out of the forced Company insurance plan–the “K plan”–and this upcoming open enrollment, in October, you will be merging into the Atlanta Health & Welfare fund that is jointly managed by your Union and the Company. Remember, that due to your new Union contract your deductibles should go down this month by $100 dollars and your pharmacy benefits should be reduced by 50%. Your wages are now unfrozen; and now again, part timers will have the ability to reach the top rate of pay, as they did prior to the 2020 forced implementation. Your next scheduled increase will be on October 30th, 2022, and our new contracts continue wage increases throughout our agreement until expiration.
We would like to thank all of our brothers and sisters; from our general clerks to our meat cutters, for giving your Union your full support and staying strong in obtaining contracts that we all can all be proud of. Not one that was forced on you by the Company.

The new contract will run through February 24, 2024. We will be back at the bargaining table when our CBA expires in 2024. Until then, we will continue to serve you, our members, and prepare you for our future negotiations with the Company.
