Dear Local 455 Kroger Members,

Your Union Leadership, supported by your worker-led bargaining committee, met with the Kroger Company on January 9th and 10th to continue our work on securing new Union contracts in Houston that reward your hard work. While many subjects were discussed, not enough progress has been made in critical areas, that matter to you most, and your bargaining committee recommends the scheduling of a strike vote to grant the bargaining committee strike authority, if a new Union contract is not in place by our current agreements’ expiration of February 24.

At the direction of our bargaining committee, the strike vote has been scheduled following the conclusion of the 2024 Kroger Houston Steward Conference on January 18th. The strike vote will be held from 2 PM to 8 PM at the HFRRF Greer and Lowdermilk Conference Center, located at 4225 Interwood N. Pkwy., Houston, TX 77032. Local Union staff, Shop Stewards, and your 2024 bargaining committee will be at the vote if you would like more information before voting. You must be a Union member to vote.

If you are a Union Steward, please coordinate with your Union Representative to make sure you have all the information you need to attend the conference. For this year’s conference we will be utilizing a passenger van service for Shop Stewards who need a ride to the conference. We strongly encourage our members to utilize this van service, you can contact your Union Representative as they have the list to sign up for a van ride.

If you are a Shop Steward and would like to signup for a ride for this years conference, please click the link below.
