Dear UFCW member,

Dates have been set with Kroger to meet and go over our proposal to merge your South Central healthcare fund with your sister UFCW local funds from across the region. We believe merging these healthcare funds will help protect and keep healthcare affordable, while still providing you – and your fellow members – a voice over your benefits.

Aside from your healthcare, we are still advocating for hazard pay and for Kroger to know how important it is to provide this essential pay for as long as the pandemic lasts.

To help ensure we understand the risks and threat this pandemic poses in the workplace, the UFCW is also partnering with the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UMNC) in a national Essential Worker Study. This important research will help us learn even more about the workplace threats you have faced, as well as the rate of infection, and the rate of vaccination among our members. Altogether, this work will help us advocate for the continued protections you and all our UFCW members need going forward.

Join Thousands of UFCW Members in a Groundbreaking Essential Worker Study.

Once you agree to take part, all you have do is answer a very short weekly survey over text or email. It’s simple, quick, and will help our union improve the health and safety of all our members.

Please sign up for this text-message based study here: p2a.co/17OBfgd or text “EssentialWorker” to 83071.

Lastly, please make sure we have your latest email and phone number so we can keep you aware of our proposed healthcare and contract negotiations with Kroger.

If you have any questions or concerns, or would like to update your contact info, please reach out to your union rep or call or email us at (281) 448-5555; info@ufcw455.org.

Thank you and stay safe,

Brandon Hopkins

UFCW Local 455 President
