Dear Local 455 Members and Participants of the Consolidated Pension Fund,
The participating Locals have secured an extension to your pension benefit that will bring security and future stability to the benefit for the next 10 years, the extension will expire on December 31, 2034. Your Union Trustees of the UFCW Consolidated Pension Fund and the Kroger Company have come to an agreement that locks in a defined benefit pension that automatically increases with wages and a funding mechanism that keeps the pension plan well-funded regardless of investment returns.
On behalf of the Local, we’re happy to be able to continue this plan, and we’re looking forward to continuing to provide a stable and safe pension for our members.
