All Restaurant Depot Members,

This is to inform you of the status of negotiations between the parties regarding the general agreement. Negotiations are still ongoing, and there has been modest progress on a number of issues, however, there is still a large gap when it comes to the economics portion of the bargaining. This is obviously to be expected in any negotiations.

As you would expect, our goal is to push and try to increase many of the wage related proposals to the extent that we can in the attempt for you all to see continued financial growth in your lives, just as the company would like to see greater profitability on for their part. While there are differing opinions on how exactly to find a balance for both, we are not walking away from the things we believe are important to the membership.

As members / as workers who help this company grow and become profitable, we believe there needs to be a recognition of those efforts by the company by rewarding you with the proper economic growth you need and deserve to support yourselves and your families.

We are not done yet and there is still much to do over the next week prior to contract expiration but we will continue to bargain hard on your behalf.

We will keep you informed as negotiations continue and/or draw to conclusion. The goal is to achieve a MoA (Memorandum of Agreement) which can be sent out to all of you to review for consideration and then you will vote whether you find it acceptable or not.

In Solidarity and on behalf of the Bargaining Committee [at UFCW2013],

Louis Mark Carotenuto, President
