Maintenance brothers & sisters,

We are sending you this update regarding the Local’s grievance filed protesting the lack of assessments, through the Impact program, and how it has affected your hourly pay.

Since September 2022, your Local Union has been pursuing a resolution to a grievance filed on behalf of all maintenance employees, due to the Company’s failure to allow folks to migrate up the pay scale on the Impact program. The Company’s refusal to promote maintenance workers up the Impact scale could potentially be worth around $3,120 per maintenance worker and up to $10,920 for some refrigeration positions. That is money that Pilgrim’s should have been paying to maintenance employees who successfully assessed to a higher pay grade, if the Company allowed folks to test up and move higher on the maintenance scale.

To date the Company has failed to agree to a resolution to this grievance and failed to offer any meaningful proposals to fairly resolve this issue during the bargaining process. The Company has admitted that folks hired off the street, since September 2022, have been offered an assessment and have been allowed to advance to these higher pay grades; however, those that have been in maintenance for years with loyal service to the Company have not been offered the same thing.

Together, lets tell Pilgrim’s to do the right thing!
