Our Foster Farms Bargaining Committee represents a wide array of departments, including custodial, maintenance, thin slice, and processing.
Mr. Albritton has worked as a Maintenance Lead and has been a union member for 26 years, hired since 1997. A year working at Foster Farms, Albritton became aware of the benefits of the union after been talked to by both his shop steward and representative at the time, which helped paved his way to become more involved with the union. He first started assisting his representative with orientations, and through many years of engagement at his plant, he was offered the opportunity to become a bargaining committee member. This year, he plans to proudly stand with others at the bargaining table to get a stable and secure contract for him and his co-workers.
Ms. Jones has worked as a Lead in Production and has been a union member for 21 years, hired since 2003. Ms. Jones was aware that Foster Farms was union and decided to join immediately on her orientation day. Ever since, Jones has made an impact at her workplace through her skills as a lead that has let others including the union aware that she was perfect to take part in the bargaining committee. Even though Jones has been in the committee for a short while, she plans to speak her mind on this year’s contract about the unfairness of the company and the improvements that need to be done on her union contract.
Mr. Cole has worked as Refrigeration Lead and has been a union member for 30 years, hired since 1994. Joseph was aware that during his orientation day, the plant was under a union contract. Since 2006, he has been an active member in filling out the shop steward role in his department. He started out as a member of Local 2010, and in 1999, during the transfer of locals, he joined UFCW Local 455, continuing his UFCW membership to 30 years today. Mr. Cole’s constant attention and support of the current contract negotiations were offered to fill the role of a bargaining committee member by the local union. Mr. Cole wishes that the company can offer a contract that will benefit all employees and improve the working conditions for him and his fellow co-workers.
Ms. Moore has worked as a Line Leader and has been a union member for 5 years, hired since 2004. Her representative at the time introduced her to the benefits of the union and what it means to be part of a collective bargaining unit. Her communication skills in the workplace awarded her introduction to the bargaining committee, and during that process she wishes that the company follows and respects the contract, and that the employees get treated equally and fairly.
Ms. Gonzales has worked as a Lead Grader and has been a union member for 3 years, hired since 2021. She was introduced and informed by her fellow co-worker Lapaquelyn, also a bargaining committee member, about the process of being in a union and the procedure of her contract and benefits within the workplace. Co-workers in her department see her as a fellow leader and spokesperson to all, which made her stand out as a perfect candidate for the bargaining committee. Ms. Gonzales wishes to have an environment where everyone can feel safe and respected regardless of their position within the plant.
