All Pilgrim’s Pride Nacogdoches workers,

Here’s what you need to know about the Company’s Last, Best ,and Final Offer and how it affects you!

The Local has been bargaining your contract since July 5, 2025. The membership previously rejected the Company’s previous offer on 7/16/2026. Since that time, the Company has made 10 cents worth of movement in wages, and has not made enough movement in the key critical areas such as Attendance, Vacation, Term of Agreement. The Local met with the Company on 10/27/26 and the Company issued a Last, Best, And Final offer (LBFO).

Here are the issues with the Company’s Final Offer:

Attendance-The Company is offering to reinstate the previous attendance policy for a period of 12 months only for the duration of a 4-year CBA. However, after the 12-month period, the Company takes back control of the attendance policy and can make changes without bargaining for the remaining years of the CBA and all future years. (This is a permanent loss of bargaining rights.)

Wages- The Company is proposing the year 1 wage offer of $0.80/hr with retroactivity that was rejected on 7/16/26, and low wage offers on yr 2,3, & 4 that are not enough for a 4-year deal (only a 10-cent difference from previous offer). The Company is also proposing to change the dates of when you receive your wage increases, which delays how long it takes to receive them.

Vacation- The Company proposed a better vacation benefit that rewarded all workers with more vacation time, but withdrew it in bad faith when your Union attempted to agree to it.

Term of Agreement- The Company is not proposing enough money to agree to a 4-year deal and changing the date of your contract expiration.

Letters of Understanding- The Company proposed, for the first time on 10/27/26, to delete all side letters unless agreed to, which would result in the removal of your rights and benefits without giving the Local enough time to properly consider the impact of this proposal. At the same time, the Company is proposing to keep similar letters, including those addressing Attendance and Vacation, out of the contract. (This is a permanent loss of bargaining rights).

Other items that were not agreed to-

  • Sanitation- The Company is proposing the deletion of your work schedule that contains guarantees of how many hours & days you should be scheduled to work.(This is a permanent loss of bargaining rights).
  • Contract Language- The Company is proposing that English is the prevailing language which is not needed.

The Local Union leadership and your Union bargaining committee believe you deserve better and something that rewards your hard work. You are not in this fight alone, your brothers and sisters in Natchitoches, LA, who are also represented by Local 455, will begin contract negotiations in the next few months, and we believe they will be facing similar issues with the Company. If you would like to join the Local’s campaign to hold the Company accountable, contact your Union representative. When the day comes to vote on the LBFO, we recommend you vote to reject it and allow us to continue bargaining for a fair contract offer you deserve.
