All Pilgrim’s Pride Nacogdoches Members,
Your Local Union Leadership and Bargaining Committee met with Company representatives on 8/20 and 8/27 in Nacogdoches, Texas, in an attempt to reach a recommended agreement that rewards you and your coworkers for the hard work you do every day. The Company continued to delay negotiations by refusing to furnish a proposal on 8/20, but on 8/27, the Company provided a counter proposal for the Local Union to consider. However, the proposal still falls short in several key areas that are important to you and your families.
The key areas are: wages, attendance, vacation and duration of the agreement. As you know, the Company, on 12/16/25, proposed a vacation benefit that your supervisors currently receive, and when the Local tried to tentatively agree to the proposal, the Company withdrew it. The Local believes that to be bad faith bargaining, and has filed an Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) charge against the Company with the NLRB.
The Company has been intent on delaying bargaining and wasting time instead of truly attempting to reach an agreement. At this time, the Local is going to open up bargaining to the membership to attend, so if you or your fellow members would like to attend bargaining to see for yourself, get with your Union representatives, Oscar Martinez and Rydell Cummings. Your Union Leadership and Bargaining Committee will be meeting on September 15th in Nacogdoches to continue bargaining towards an agreement we can support. Thank you for working hard and doing the job that you do every day. Stay Union Strong and if you would like to help or attend the meeting, please contact your Union Representative.
Working together we can and will make Pilgrim’s Pride Nacogdoches a better place to work.
In Solidarity,
Your Union Bargaining Committee and your Local Union President W. Brandon Hopkins
