The Union & Company met the week of September 2nd & 3rd to continue discussions on your contract with the assistance of a Federal Mediator and your Bargaining Committee, which is made up of rank and file union members that work in stores alongside you.

Your union made a few adjustments to the South Central Trust Fund health care proposal, which includes keeping all your benefits in your trust fund. The Bargaining Committee also unanimously told the company they were not interested in company-controlled health care and want to keep the plan that is currently in place which gives you a voice in your benefits and health care costs. However, the Local remains committed to considering other plans and trust funds to find the best plan for you.

But Kroger won’t listen to any other options.

The company refuses to admit that their “K-Plan” is full of concessions and, even worse, refuses to discuss reasonable solutions that will maintain your voice and your benefits.

After eliminating hazard pay and refusing to enforce safety protocols with shoppers in stores, Kroger is trying to dismantle your entire health care system in the middle of a national pandemic. You deserve better.

Kroger continues to push their Last, Best & Final Offer in their store management huddles, company robo-calls, “Kroger radio” commercials over intercoms in the stores, expensive radio and television commercials during primetime hours, and on their website. But they are not fooling anyone.

KROGER IS TRYING TO SELL YOU A BAD DEAL THAT ELIMINATES YOUR VOICE AND DOWNGRADES YOUR BENEFITS.

When it comes to voting on Kroger’s Last, Best & Final Offer, here’s what you need to know.

FACTS ABOUT YOUR UNION CONTRACT VOTE:

NO without full recommendation. Your Bargaining Committee must fully recommend an offer before it gets presented to the entire membership for a ratification vote, and so far, they do not recommend the company’s current Last, Best & Final Offer.

NO to company-controlled health care. When the company wanted to hear from your Bargaining Committee members about the issues they have with the company’s Last, Best & Final Offer, your committee unanimously rejected the offer one-by-one because it turns over full control of your healthcare decisions and benefits to the company. Your Bargaining Committee prefers to maintain South Central, but will always consider other options that are best for you!

YES to full recommendation. Your Bargaining Committee must fully recommend an offer before it gets presented to the entire membership for a ratification vote, and so far, they do not recommend the company’s current Last, Best & Final Offer.
