Dear Local 455 Kroger Members,

We would like to express our deepest sympathy for those that were injured during a shooting at Kroger Store 179. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and our members who were forced to witness this senseless tragedy.

While going through such a tragedy, members of Store 179 and neighboring stores stood tall and were there for each other. The store was able to open the next morning because of their shared hard work, dedication, and willingness to show up. This is yet another example of how our members make Kroger great.

Grief counselors are available on site for all affected until Saturday, July 18th, and additional security will be on site for the foreseeable future. I highly encourage you to take advantage of the grief counselors should you feel the need to. Your safety and well-being are what’s most important.

There is currently an agreement in place with the Company to pay workers who were affected by hours missed. Please reach out should an issue arise; Your Local is here to help.

Continue to stand strong for one another, your Union is here to help in any way we can, and again, please do not hesitate to reach out to your Representative or our office at (281) 448-5555 should you feel the need to.

In Solidarity,

W. Brandon Hopkins
President
