Dear UFCW Local 455 Kroger Member,
Because of the incredible display of members making their voices heard and votes count last month, Kroger returned to the bargaining table yesterday.
Yesterday, your union bargaining committee gave the Company a proposal outlining a fair wage agreement, a fair healthcare package, and responded to many of the items the Company wants to see in a new agreement. We also discussed many of the cuts the Company proposed in their so-called “Last, Best, and Final” and whether they still believe it’s necessary in a new agreement given the amount of money Kroger has made during the pandemic.
Simply put, your union has made clear that your hard work is what makes a difference, and that you have earned and deserve a better life that rewards that hard work.
With respect to next steps, the Company has agreed to meet again next week on Wednesday 12/8. Our hope is that we can reach a fair agreement that our committee and membership can support.
